Heidi Foy attends NorthRidge Fellowship Church in Rogers, MN and is currently serving on the Overseer team since its inception. The church has been an avid supporter of the Kairos course for a number of years thanks to the efforts of the Hutchcraft family. Seeing the enthusiasm that has sparked in their congregration as a result of the course, particularly among their youth ministry and missions department, the leadership team decided to take the course for themselves to see how they could personally support the growing local movement. The facilitation team was primarily led by their mobilized team of young adult leaders. NorthRidge is also where the idea of Kids' Kairos was reignited and credited to these young mobilizers who envisioned adapting this material for elementary age kids when they first took the course. Kids' Kairos is currently under development and expected to be completed later this year.

Heidi wrote about her experience in the church's recent Spring newsletter and has graciously allowed us to share part of her story:
"The Great Commission is our our Great Opportunity
I want to share an exciting experience i have had recently. I attended the Kairos course at NorthRidge Fellowship. I was awe struck with how many unreached people groups there are in the world that still need to hear the Gospel for the first time. Looking at a world map showing both the reached and the unreached groups was like looking through a different set of 'glasses' as far as the amount of work that is still needed to spread the Gospel. The task seemed insurmountable to me at first, but after duscussing how God is literally mobilizing our world, that He is bringing people from other nations to our communtiies, I realied we may not even need to travel overseas. God has brouth other people groups to us.

The Kairos course helped open my eyes to the incredible opportunities to share the Gospel right in our own community. During the course, the leaders displayed a picture of a huge temple and asked, "Where do you think this building is located?" After people named a few countries, we learned this Hindu Temple is actually located in Maple Grove (MN). Driving by the temple I was amazed at the huge size of it, and that it was located so close to our church.
Recently, a new housing development has gone in right behind my home. Many different people groups reside in that community. I am now thinking about who God will literally bring across the path behind my home. I want to be prepared. Kairos has given me the 'glasses' to look for those opportunities. I woul dencourage you to attend a Kairos course. It teaches how to not only have an awareness, but also how to truly have a heart for others. There is opportunity to learn about another person's belief system, and by showing interest in that family's culture, we may find ouselves having new friends from other lands. We may ultimately have the opportunity to share the love of Christ with them. Are you ready to try on a new pair of glasses?"
